Yeah, that's really cool Dan. That whole region; Kentucky, Arkansas, Missouri,etc, always seemed really strange to me, for some reason. I'd love to read some comics about those places.
I also wondered what kind of paint you're using on those awesome shoes you're making. I've used some paint markers on hats and stuff before, but they always fade away or smudge of they get at all wet.

Luke: the paint on those shoes is just straight Acrylic with a coat of Acrylic gloss medium varnish on top. I've worn those Madball shoes in pretty gnarly conditions and they still look okay. Actually I wish they would get gnarlier because they might look cooler.
