Get Your Kicks! Route 66 in 2026


Happy 100th birthday, Route 66! I had the honor of making this suite of illustrations for Rural Missouri magazine showing some of the (still existing) milestones in each state along the way.

You might remember that I've previously illustrated the history of Route 66 in St. Louis, and was happy to expand my horizons along the entire Mother Road.





Barred Owl Screenprint!


I'd been looking to do a "spiritual sequel" to my Eurasian Tree Sparrow Print for a while, printed in the same minimal color palette (white + black inks on brown chipboard). Then a couple of these loud lovelies started hooting right outside our night-time windows!

They're not the most exciting or exotic owls, but they live in our backyard so I couldn't resist. Here were some sketches!
